There is no reason why you can’t have it all and there is no reason why you can’t dream big.
One of my favourite mindset exercises to do when I feel overwhelmed or lost is do a HUGE vision mind map.
I write out each area of my life and just write down everything that I want to achieve in that area. It doesn’t matter how big it is or how ‘hard’ it would be to achieve. Here are a couple thing on my map;
– interviewing Oprah on my own radio show
– flying in a private jet with my friends
– starring in the next Hollywood blockbuster
– owning a 3-bed luxury cottage with a jacuzzi bath, garage and home cinema (specifically this one!)
Yep – these are all on there! The more I dream big and really open myself to the endless possibilities out there, the more things start to happen for me… and I’ll tell you why.
5 REASONS TO DREAM BIG
I’ve always wanted to do things that some see as impossible. Dreaming big means that you have a vision of your ideal life that’s filled with success, happiness, fun and abundance. Although reaching your goal can be a struggle and it may be a bumpy ride, it is so worth it once you get there.
We all dream differently and depending on how committed we are, we would do anything to make it a reality.
Sadly, so many people give up on their dreams. I have been one of them a few times. When it gets too hard, we take the easy route of quitting rather than potentially facing another fail.
Here are 5 reasons why you should start dreaming big!
The word impossible isn’t even a thing anymore.
It’s not even in your vocabulary. There will be others out there that will relay their thoughts and feelings that what you want won’t come to light. Ignore and/or block those people, because you really don’t need that negativity in your life. When you start practising the art of big dreaming, you don’t see any bumps in the road, failures or any other negative vibes.
You keep going, you keep trying and you don’t stop until you get there. If it’s out there in the world already, it’s possible. If someone else is living the life you want, it’s possible. If the materials to make your invention is out there, it’s possible. Nothing is impossible and once you engrain that into your subconscious mind, great things will start to happen.
All your small achievements start to matter.
Before I started The Daring Life, I started dreaming about owning an empire that consisted of a talk show, a podcast, self-study courses, my own line of journals… literally, I wanted everything. I still do. However, when I started, I saw other people way ahead of me and thought there was NO WAY I could reach my goals. The main reason was that in my mind, I didn’t have the experience that they all had. I know many of you are reading this and have or do feel like this.
We assume we have to do something really major in order to be classed as successful and we forget about the little successes along the way. Those little wins add up one by one and should be used to motivate and push towards your goal. In this workbook, there will be a chance to create your own success bank that you can use as a reference when you feel you haven’t done anything or feel demotivated.
You find out that working on yourself is a major key, not optional.
You can’t expect your dreams to work if you continue to do the same thing as you were before and expecting a different outcome. Wanting to live the life of your dreams and visualising the end result is not enough. You have to put in the work #sorrynotsorry.
By not working on yourself, you are living with bad habits and a lack of discipline. Without change, there’s no way you can fulfil your dreams. Realise your full potential by going on a journey of self-discovery. Set actionable good habits, build an amazing morning routine and get rid of bad habits.
Your life begins to sprint in the direction you want it to go.
The mind is powerful but your subconscious mind is a POWERHOUSE. When you have a dream, travels into your conscious mind which is where they live. However, it also seeps into your subconscious mind which processes about 40,000+ thoughts a day. Those thoughts basically run your life. They make you, you.
Think of it as a chain effect that links everything together; What you think, aids what you feel. What you feel aids your actions. How you act, aids your life experience and your life experiences, shape your values and beliefs.
In order to control which direction you want to go, you have to get your thoughts into shape. Dreaming big gets your thoughts into abundance and not lack. The best thing is, your subconscious mind doesn’t know what is the truth and what is a lie. So, if you feed your mind with thoughts that you are rich, confident, sexy, debt free, lit as f*** and live a life of luxury, eventually your subconscious mind will start to believe that what you have fed it is true.
It doesn’t even matter if you don’t live the life our your dreams right now. Dreaming big and controlling your thoughts and feelings will eventually change your direction of life!
Failure doesn’t hold you back for long anymore.
Failure is one of the reasons people are afraid to dream big and push themselves into chasing the life they really want. Failure is pretty s****y. We’ve all experienced it in one form or another and it hurts. So much so, that sometimes we can’t see past it for what seems like forever and it holds us back, knocks our confidence and brings bad vibes!
However, when you dream big and start the adventure of making your dreams a reality, you become so used to failure that it becomes quicker and easier to recover. You will have failed many times trying to make your dreams a reality and you will probably fail a couple more times but its all gravy.
What we don’t realise is that our past failures help us in the long run. I know from my past failures, I have grown mentally and emotionally from these failures because of the skills and lessons I had learnt. These only make you stronger going forward. It makes you persistent and will help you up from the dumps and push you to try again.
There are tons of other reasons why dreaming big is LIT but these are my favourite 5.
Please know that there is nothing wrong with wanting to dream. The only thing stopping you from achieving your goals or even admitting what you truly want is you. Let’s start truly believing in ourselves, showing up and declaring what we want in our lives.
